Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER), an Institute of National Importance, has announced the schedule for 2017 MBBS Admission cycle. 
JIPMER under Government of India since the year 1956, is one of the leading Medical Institutions of India. Spread over a sprawling 195 acre campus in an urban locale of Puducherry (formerly Pondicherry).

Admission to M.B.B.S. Course for 150 seats is through an Entrance Examination conducted by JIPMER at various centers across India once a year.

JIPMER being an Institute of National Importance along the lines of AIIMS and IITs, shall be conducting its own medical entrance exam for admissions to MBBS program.  Like AIIMS, it will continue with its own entrance exam and will not be part of the NEET exam process.

As per the schedule announced by JIPMER, the applications for the MBBS program shall commence on 27th March 2017.  

The Entrance Exam will be held on 04th June 2017.
